To provide educational
forums and resources to new and established rescue groups.
To develop appropriate
standards of operation for purebred dog rescues.

REFERRAL PHONE
LINE: (734) 662-5560
The Alliance staffs a phone line to provide information about purebred
rescue seven days a week. Rescuers and humane organizations who wish to
connect with each other are assisted, along with private dog owners and
potential adopters.
CODE OF ETHICS
The Alliance's "Code of Ethics for Purebred Rescuers," with one part for
fostering rescues and one for referral-rescues, was adopted by the
membership in the fall of 1997. The Code provides a set of high-quality
animal care and placement standards for purebred rescuers, both private
and club-sponsored. Alliance members who choose to sign onto the Code
may promote their adherence to the Code. Written grievances against Code
of Ethics Members are reviewed by the Alliance Grievance Committee.
NEWSLETTER
Canine Lifeline, published by the Alliance, addresses issues of interest
to anyone involved with animal rescue or sheltering. A one-year
subscription costs $10. Alliance members receive the newsletter as a
benefit of membership.
ANNUAL MEETING
OF THE MEMBERS
The annual membership meeting is held in the fall in Ann Arbor. All
members in good standing have a vote on topics brought forward at the
meeting. The annual financial report and current projects are featured.
