Alliance Operations

The Michigan Purebred Dog Rescue Alliance is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to facilitating and promoting purebred dog rescue statewide. We are an all-volunteer group whose goals are:
To promote purebred dog rescue.
To facilitate communication and encourage networking among rescuers and between rescuers and humane/animal sheltering groups.
To provide educational forums and resources to new and established rescue groups.
To develop appropriate standards of operation for purebred dog rescues.
To coordinate our efforts with other charitable and pet-related organizations.

Join the Alliance today! Your support will help us to meet our goals for years to come.

REFERRAL PHONE LINE: (734) 662-5560
The Alliance staffs a phone line to provide information about purebred rescue seven days a week. Rescuers and humane organizations who wish to connect with each other are assisted, along with private dog owners and potential adopters.

CODE OF ETHICS
The Alliance's "Code of Ethics for Purebred Rescuers," with one part for fostering rescues and one for referral-rescues, was adopted by the membership in the fall of 1997. The Code provides a set of high-quality animal care and placement standards for purebred rescuers, both private and club-sponsored. Alliance members who choose to sign onto the Code may promote their adherence to the Code. Written grievances against Code of Ethics Members are reviewed by the Alliance Grievance Committee.

NEWSLETTER
Canine Lifeline, published by the Alliance, addresses issues of interest to anyone involved with animal rescue or sheltering. A one-year subscription costs $10. Alliance members receive the newsletter as a benefit of membership.

ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MEMBERS
The annual membership meeting is held in the fall in Ann Arbor. All members in good standing have a vote on topics brought forward at the meeting. The annual financial report and current projects are featured.
